Today, I want to talk about something important on our journey towards healing from trauma: integration. It's like putting together the pieces of a puzzle to create a beautiful picture of who you are.
Integration is all about bringing together the different parts of yourself into a harmonious whole. Think of it as weaving together your thoughts, emotions, actions, and perceptions into a cohesive story that makes sense. This process is crucial in our recovery journey because it helps us build a stable sense of self and understand our life's journey so far.
As you grow, you develop unique patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving – that's your personality.
Your environment growing up plays a big role in shaping your ability to integrate. A nurturing and safe space allows your integrative capacities to flourish, helping you form a strong foundation of self-awareness and resilience.
