So often, we hide behind the words, “I’m fine.” Heaven knows I’ve done it more times than I can count! We plaster on a smile, nod along, and hope nobody notices the cracks underneath. But here’s the truth: true healing cannot happen when we deny our pain.

Authentic healing starts with honesty. It begins when we admit that life has hurt us, that wounds exist, and that we’re tired of pretending. It’s in those moments—when we’re raw, real, and a little scared—that God meets us most powerfully.

Vulnerability is Bravery, Not Weakness

There’s a lie we all fall for: that showing our brokenness makes us weak. It doesn’t. Vulnerability is courage. It’s choosing truth over appearances. It’s stepping into freedom instead of fear. And yes—it’s showing up before God, even when you feel exposed.

When we prioritize connection with Him over approval from others, our hearts start to untangle from the heavy weight of perfectionism, shame, and people-pleasing. We begin to feel what we were made to feel: peace, grace, and steady confidence in God’s love.

The Power of Saying “I Need Help”

Here’s something life-changing: admitting you’re not okay doesn’t push God away—it draws Him closer. He isn’t surprised by your doubts or your hurts. He doesn’t turn His face from your fear. Instead, He meets you with gentleness, wisdom, and restoration.

You don’t have to have it all together. You don’t have to have the perfect faith, the perfect day, or the perfect story. You just have to be willing to show up, be honest, and receive His love.

Take the Step Toward Real Healing

If you’ve been hiding behind “I’m fine” for months, maybe years, I want you to try something radical:

1.      Pause.

2.      Name the hurt. Speak it aloud. Write it down. Pray it.

3.      Let yourself feel it—not to stay stuck, but to start moving forward.

4.      Invite God into the moment. Let Him meet you where you are.

Healing is not a one-and-done event. It’s a journey. And it starts when you finally stop pretending.

Your heart is capable of so much more than survival. It can thrive. It can trust. It can heal. And it can do all of this while being completely honest with God and yourself.
